Michelle and Cortez Johnson’s journey is rooted in faith, love, music, and purpose. Though they moved within the same circles in Tulsa’s gospel and music community for years, it wasn’t until early 2022 that they truly connected. A friendship formed first, but it quickly deepened into love, and by the end of that year, they were married.

Music had long been central to both of their lives. Michelle brought years of experience as a gospel vocalist, while Cortez had established himself in Tulsa as a respected bass player and musician. After coming together in marriage, their individual paths in music began to naturally align, setting the stage for something new.

As they began creating together, they realized their connection went beyond shared musical talent. They were united by a deeper calling—to use their gifts with intention and impact. From that shared vision, Johnson LoveSound was formed.

Their music blends contemporary gospel and inspirational sounds with influences from R&B, soul, jazz, and worship. Rather than fitting into a single category, Johnson LoveSound focuses on creating authentic, meaningful songs that meet people in real-life moments and experiences.

At the core of their work is a clear mission: to share God’s love through music, inspire hope, strengthen faith, and encourage love for others. Every song reflects both their personal faith and their belief that their gifts are meant to uplift and serve others.

Their debut single, “Open Door,” embodies that mission. Inspired by Revelation 3:8 and the promise of doors that God alone can open, the song speaks to faith, perseverance, new beginnings, and trusting God’s timing and direction.

For Michelle and Cortez, Johnson LoveSound is more than a music project—it is an extension of their marriage, testimony, ministry, and shared purpose. As they continue forward, they remain committed to following God’s lead and stepping boldly through every door He opens—together.
